ICYMI: We hosted our first webinar of the year on automation with Lasernet. The conversation was led by CuroGens CEO, Jesper Kehlet. Jesper discussed how you can eliminate errors, operate more efficiently, and increase your bottom line with automation through Lasernet.

Q: If I switched to Lasernet for report designing, what would happen to the barcodes currently used in my warehouse?
A: We can build the forms designs in Lasernet using the same barcodes. If you want to retain them, they will stay. We can work with any barcode or QR codes out there, so nothing would happen to them, you would still be able to work with them.
Q: What if I decide to use Lasernet with my ERP and then a year from now I upgrade my ERP or move to the cloud. Would I need to go in and reassign all of the customizations for my reports?
A: No absolutely not, in fact we have several of our customers that are currently working with one version of an ERP system, but they had come from a different version or completely different brand of ERP. We have one customer right now that’s running on Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) and they wanted to migrate up to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. We are helping them with that, and we are ensuring that Lasernet still produces the same exact input and output files. All we do is work with the business consultants for the ERP system if we don’t have the same level of skills and expertise internally. We do this to ensure that the output from the new system matches the output from the old system. Lasernet will essentially continue in a completely untouched fashion. We work with the Microsoft Dynamics products, predominantly Business Central, Finance and Operations, Finance and Supply Chain Management, but we have worked with all kinds of systems in the past. Lasernet can work with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, any kind of product you can imagine. In summary, you don’t have to start from scratch.
Q: One of the case studies stated the Lasernet project was completed in one month end-to-end. What is the average start-up time to get an organization up and going with Lasernet?
A: The average time to be up and running for an out of the box implementation of Lasernet would be about a week’s time: a day or so on infrastructure and a few days of training and setup. We need to work with your infrastructure team, someone who knows where your infrastructure is today. Maybe your preference is a little more involved, for instance, and you ask, “Hey, can you please get us some of these Azure servers and deploy that on there?” Either way we can do it, and that takes us about a workday to get the basic Lasernet System up and running. Then we have some standard out-of-the-box forms, if those meet your needs. We basically change the logos, make sure that things are moved around to reflect your business formats – your design, your fonts, etc. Sometimes it can take a couple of weeks, but within a week, you can see the first reports and forms being produced nicely out of Lasernet.
Q: Lasernet has the ability to print to any kind of printer, but can customizations be assigned to particular customers for a combination of different printing types?
A: Oh absolutely, in fact we have many clients/customers that do exactly that. We have clients that have customers who want it in either HTML format, others want it in PDF email, and some customers want it printed and dropped in the mail. We can actually work with automated postal service and the machines that drop it into an envelope and put postage on it. That can be directed based on your customer’s requirement.
Q: What is the growth point for Lasernet? Is there a specific number of users, transactions, etc.?
A: Not really – when I mentioned the utility company before where they are producing 250,000 documents per hour, they do that with a staff of less than 20 people. I think accounts are being handled across 30 out of the 48 lower United States, with a team of less than five people. We also have a customer that has about 2,700 employees, but just a handful of employees that actually work with Lasernet. Whether you have two employees or 2,000, it is doesn’t really matter, Lasernet can work for you in any capacity. We have pricing options for all ends of the spectrum. It’s a robust tool no matter the size of your organization.
Q: What does the onboarding process or training look like for Lasernet?
A: We have a training program that trains the users in your company in three business days (24 hours total). After that training, you will be able to configure and work with the Lasernet both on the infrastructure side and the design side, and even on the input side as well. After those three days of training, you will be able to work with Lasernet itself. Imagine that the initial setup takes about four days for you to get infrastructure and training completed.
